NEWS: ‘The Batman’ Gets Delay

With everything going on in the world today it's no surprise that films are having to push back their releases. Some are doing this due to the fact that is unsafe ti be out filming, and some may do it because of the lack of open theaters in what would be box office suicide. Well this week we found out that even Gotham's caped crusader will be taking a hit to the Covid-19 crisis. Matt Reeves "The Batman" has been pushed back from a June 2021 release to an October 2021 release.

Though this is some bummer news as many are excited to see Robert Pattinson take on the cape and cowl in "The Batman" there is some silver lining to this news. Besides the fact that the cast and crew are now less likely to come across the virus now that filming has been postponed, an October release pairs well with the dark and gothic aspect that Matt Reeves is trying to capture in his film, and it's especially good for the actors as October is during award season. It's also a funny coincidence that Matt Reeves said his script was partly inspired by the famous Batman comic "The Long Halloween".

The Batman stars Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell and Andy Serkis, and will be in theaters October 2021.
